I am a Manchester-based trainee journalist currently studying at News Associates towards my BA (Hons) Multimedia Journalism degree and NCTJ qualification. I am working towards my 100wpm shorthand.

I write for Mancunian Matters and Manchester World, and have been published in regional titles such as Manchester Evening News and The Yorkshire Post. I have experience reporting on breaking news, events, match reporting and writing long read features. I can produce multimedia content for social media as well as make broadcast packages. My aim is to provide local people with local news.

Thousands back bid to build a new leisure centre and pool in Marple after Levelling Up funding rejected

Hundreds of people have backed a campaign to build a new leisure centre and pool in Marple – after a bid for Levelling Up cash was turned down.
The previous pool was closed in March 2018 due to its unsafe facilities. Attempts to secure funding needed to repair the pool, via the government’s levelling up scheme, were rejected in 2021 and again last month.

Teen athlete Caden Cunningham registered a new career high after he clinched silver on the final day of The World Taekwondo Grand Prix III.

University of Manchester forcefully evicted rent strikers from Simon building

The University of Manchester used bailiffs to physically remove rent strikers from the Simon building at 5am .

Students were forcibly carried out of the campus building by bailiffs during a 5:21am raid to evict the strikers occupying the Simon building, which students have been occupying since February.

Manchester gears up to host World Taekwondo Grand Prix

More than 400 fighters from across the globe will head to Manchester later this month to compete in the World Taekwondo Grand Prix III.

The event – the third of four taking place across the world – will be at the Manchester Regional Arena between October 20 and 23.

Stockport-based charity Supportability raised more than £17,000 in their 30th anniversary charity golf event.

Supportability encourages adults and children with complex physical and learning disabilities to live a fulfilled and independent life.

Non-profit Community Group provides free meals to struggling families in Stockport

A non-profit community organisation from Stockport is providing free meals to families and children during the cost of living crisis.

The Cherry Tree Project is a non-profit, youth-led community group, based in Romiley, Stockport, that supports their local community throughout the year with weekly sessions and holiday activities.

The group is open to all ages, currently running four youth groups, three clubs, and two food banks weekly at their centre in Cherry Tree.
